The Challenge

A startup wanted to build a consumer marketplace app for buying and selling new or used products quickly — competing against established C2C marketplace platforms. To gain traction, the app needed to make listing, negotiating, and completing a sale as frictionless as possible: fast registration including social login, clear communication between buyers and sellers, trust signals like ratings, and easy discovery through social sharing. All of this needed a backend robust enough to support marketplace-scale traffic alongside a native Android app for the bulk of the target market.

What We Built

Atlikarinca — a two-sided marketplace platform consisting of a native Android app in Java, backed by a PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL web backend. The app lets users list items for sale, submit and negotiate offers, ask sellers questions directly, and rate both buyers and sellers to build trust between strangers transacting directly. Registration is streamlined through social login (Google+ and other social accounts), and listings can be shared straight to social media to drive organic discovery. Separate, purpose-built views for buyers and sellers keep each side of a transaction focused on what they actually need to do next. As the Dedicated Team engagement, exbisoft functioned as an embedded extension of the startup’s own engineering capacity throughout development.

What It Delivers

  • Native Android marketplace app covering the full buy/sell flow — listing, offers, negotiation, and completion
  • Built-in rating system for buyers and sellers, building trust between strangers transacting directly
  • Social login (Google+ and other providers) and social sharing, lowering friction for signup and organic discovery
  • Dedicated seller and buyer views, keeping each side of a transaction focused on its own next steps
  • PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL backend built to support marketplace-scale listings and transactions
