The Challenge

CarLicence, a South African startup, provides white-label licence disc renewal (LDR) infrastructure that businesses, insurers, and financial platforms integrate into their own websites, mobile apps, POS systems, and even ATMs. The business model depends on real-time quoting and an integration process fast enough that a partner could go live in hours rather than weeks — turning a traditionally manual, tedious government renewal process into an automated background service. That promise only holds if the underlying platform is reliable and fast enough to support a growing number of downstream integration partners without a custom build for each one.

What We Built

A .NET platform on Azure, backed by SQL Server, exposing the real-time quoting and licence disc renewal API that partner businesses integrate against directly. Azure Functions handle the background automation that connects to South Africa’s licence renewal processes, keeping quotes and renewal status current without manual intervention. As CarLicence’s Dedicated Team, exbisoft functions as an embedded extension of their own engineering organisation — covering ongoing web development, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and production monitoring — so the platform keeps pace as new integration partners come on board.

What It Delivers

  • Real-time licence disc renewal quoting API that partner businesses can integrate in hours, not weeks
  • Azure Functions-based automation handling the background renewal process at scale
  • Scalable .NET, Azure, and SQL Server platform supporting integrations across web, mobile, POS, and ATM channels
  • A dedicated, embedded engineering team covering development, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps as an extension of CarLicence’s own team
  • Enables partner businesses to launch new licence-renewal revenue streams without building their own infrastructure
